Editorial standards
The hard rules Infolitico enforces: accurate reporting, exact Scripture text, no fabricated quotes, and protected-person policy — enforced in code, not prompts.
Infolitico's editorial standards are not style guidelines — they are enforced rules. The enforcement lives in the pipeline's code and database policies, not in model prompts, so a careless or hostile model cannot talk its way past a safety rule.
The hard rules
1. Never fabricate or modify Bible verse text
Every verse is reproduced exactly from the curated bible_verses
database. The pipeline never writes a verse from memory, never paraphrases a
quoted verse, and never edits the wording of a curated verse. The verified
NLT block is the only full-verse quotation in an article.
2. No fabricated quotes attributed as real
Commentary quotes are fetched from the commentary_quotes table and attached
to the article in code between pipeline stages — the outline and draft
models receive them as verified input and cannot emit their own quote text.
At most one quote may appear in an article, verbatim and attributed.
3. Protected people and minors are database-owned policy
Policy about protected people and minors is enforced by the database and the pipeline's code, not by asking a model to "remember the rules." A pre-publish person check runs before any story can publish.
4. The last-line content gate
polish-and-guard is the final content gate before publication. Combined
with editorial review, headline-novelty checks, and the pre-publish person
check, a story must clear every gate or it is rejected — never patched by
prompt.
News first, faith second
The article leads with accurate, concise reporting; the spiritual layer rides on top and never replaces it. The pipeline's source-evidence preflight rejects events that cannot be factually summarized, and the faith-angle stage rejects events with no genuine faith connection. A story is never forced into a devotional frame.
Voice, bounded
- Warm and conversational — a thoughtful friend sharing a morning devotional, not a pastor at a pulpit.
- Values, not politics — family, personal responsibility, stewardship, gratitude, character, community, and faith in God's plan. Never party names, candidate endorsements, or left/right framing.
- Earnest and sincere — no irony, no hedging, no academic distance.
- Short and accessible — 300–500 words, a two-minute read.
Rejection is the pipeline's primary safety mechanism. If a story cannot be reported accurately, connected genuinely to faith, and cleared by every gate, it is not published.
