Editorial standards
Editorial commitments, automated checks, and the limits of Infolitico's source and Scripture safeguards.
Infolitico's editorial standards combine editorial commitments with automated checks. Product code describes an automated source-event NEWS pipeline and a separate owner-gated publisher for hand-authored Inspirational Thoughts. These are distinct publishing paths; code and configuration do not establish which path is currently active in production or whether a message was delivered. Automated checks reduce risk for the patterns they recognize. They cannot prove that every claim is true, catch every fabricated or inaccurate quotation, or make publication infallible.
Editorial commitments and controls
1. Source-based reporting
The automated NEWS pipeline begins with source events and applies evidence checks before later generation steps. It carries source information for provenance. This describes code behavior; it does not prove that a feed is reachable, an event has been published, or every published claim is correct.
2. Scripture when selected
The NEWS pipeline selects verses from curated bible_verses data and carries
the stored reference and text as canonical values. Publication guards reject
detected changes to the selected verse and recognized unverified
quotation-marked Scripture or Bible citations outside the leading verse
block. These are bounded checks, not a guarantee that every reference,
quotation, or generated claim is error-free.
3. Source and commentary quotations
The pipeline supplies source and commentary quotations as input and checks the quotes selected for an outline against those supplied records. Quotation guards cover recognized forms; they are not a general fact-check of every sentence and do not prove that no fabricated quotation can pass.
4. Protected-person checks
Product code includes checks against configured blocked persons, including a pre-publish check in the owner-gated Inspirational Thought publisher. These checks address the cases they recognize; they do not prove that every protected-person case is detectable or that a publishing path is currently active.
5. Content gates
The daily NEWS pipeline applies content scores, section requirements, quotation checks, and a 250–550-word polished-body bound. The separate owner-gated Thought publisher has its own validation, including a 700–900-word polished-body bound. Rejection is expected when an implemented gate fails; passing those checks is not independent verification of every fact.
News first, faith second
The editorial intention is to lead with source-grounded reporting and add spiritual reflection where there is a genuine faith connection. Automated checks can reject candidates that fail their configured evidence or faith-angle tests, but cannot guarantee that every article meets this standard perfectly.
Editorial voice and length targets
- Warm and conversational — a thoughtful friend sharing a morning devotional, not a pastor at a pulpit.
- Values, not politics — family, personal responsibility, stewardship, gratitude, character, community, and faith in God's plan; no party endorsements or left/right framing.
- Earnest, constructive, and dignifying — treat people with care; avoid mockery or humiliation.
- Short and accessible — writing guidance targets 300–500 words for a daily reflection. This is an editorial target, not the pipeline's exact acceptance range or a publication guarantee.
Automated checks are safeguards, not proof of infallibility. If you spot a factual or Scripture error, see the Corrections page for how to report it.
