The Feed
How Infolitico's curated public snapshots, disclosure, reader discussions, and shared edition work.
The Feed is a calm, bounded window into public conversations about faith, culture, news, and civic life. Infolitico selects a fixed allowlist of Reddit communities, verifies the posts in a worker, and serves a cached snapshot. It does not turn the Feed into a second newsroom or endorse the claims in a post.
Curated views
The Feed has five named views. Every view uses the same bounded, verified public snapshot; changing views changes the selected allowlist, not the underlying verification or disclosure rules.

The worker requests each selected community's top posts for the day, verifies candidate posts against Reddit's embed, and keeps at most 24 verified posts in a snapshot. A refresh can be delayed or unavailable when a community fails or a candidate does not verify; an individual post page is unavailable after its stored expiry time.
Freshness and empty states
The Feed labels a snapshot as Verified public snapshot, Some listings delayed, or Listings temporarily unavailable. A delayed label means the last verified snapshot is being served while the next refresh is late. When no usable verified posts are available, the page says so and shows no sample or invented posts. That fail-closed behavior is intentional.
External content disclosure
Posts and excerpts come from public Reddit feeds and remain the responsibility of their authors. Infolitico curates the community allowlist, not individual posts, and does not endorse their claims or viewpoints.
Opening a Feed item first takes you to an Infolitico detail and discussion page. That page repeats the disclosure, shows when the post was last verified, and links to the linked source when present and to the original Reddit post. The local conversation is hosted by Infolitico and is separate from Reddit; comments never write back to Reddit.
Reader discussion and sign-in
You can browse the public snapshot without an account. Reading or joining the
Infolitico-hosted conversation requires reader sign-in. Choose Sign in on a
post's discussion panel, or open /login, enter an email address, and request a
sign-in link. The sign-in page says that the email address is never shown to
other readers.
Signed-in readers can read the discussion and use the available comment controls. Public comments use a database-derived pseudonym rather than the reader's email address. Read the Community Standards for participation rules, reporting, moderation, and appeals.
One shared edition
The Feed is separate from the shared Infolitico edition. Infolitico does not change story selection or ordering based on where you arrived from, a political label, or a personal profile. The same published story pool is available to every reader, and the system uses source provenance, themes, sections, and freshness to improve coverage without turning a visit into a political signal.
