Morning newsletter
Newsletter consent, sender implementation, and the boundary between checked-in schedule and verified delivery.
The signup flow is double opt-in for an intended digest. The source repository contains a sender and daily timer configuration. A dated operations record documents one production timer run on 2026-08-16 that skipped an edition; it does not establish current scheduler/provider state or a delivered digest.
Cadence and availability
Subscriber-facing confirmation copy describes a weekday email. The checked-in systemd timer is configured for a daily 06:00 America/Los_Angeles run. A dated operations record confirms one past run only, not the current schedule.
Thin mornings are skipped rather than padded with filler. This means an empty or small slate is an intentional quality state, not a promise to send a made-up edition.
The source records a past timer run that skipped an edition, but does not establish the current timer/provider state or that any digest was delivered. Signing up is not a guarantee that a digest is being sent.
What goes in the digest
When digest delivery is active, its items are drawn from published Infolitico stories:
- a concise selection of source-backed stories;
- the published Infolitico headline and a link to the Infolitico story;
- a link to the original source for each item; and
- the published facts and Scripture reused as-is rather than rewritten by an email model.
The sender skips a thin slate rather than padding it. Current production behavior cannot be established from the source snapshot and dated run record.
Subscribe and manage consent
- Open the newsletter signup on infolitico.com and enter your email address.
- Select the explicit consent checkbox and submit the form.
- Check your inbox and follow the confirmation link. The site does not send the morning email until you confirm.
Signup uses double opt-in. A submitted address is pending until the confirmation link is used; the confirmation link expires after 24 hours. Every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing suppresses the address so it is not mailed again. Older signup records are not treated as confirmed consent and must opt in again.
Read the Privacy Policy for the consent record, retention, aggregate engagement measurement, and delivery-processor details.
Browse the published archive
The public Archive lists every published edition by day. Each date shows its story count and opens a day page containing that day's published stories. Use the archive to revisit the source-backed stories behind an edition even when you are not using email.
